BOOKING PROCEDURE
-
1. CONSULTATION
Inquiring about a tattoo appointment for the most part requires an in person consultation to be booked first to go over the design you want, ideas to make it an original custom piece, taking measurements and pictures, and discussing references. Very simple and straight forward designs may not require a consult.
-
2. Leaving a deposit
At the end of the consultation, once everything is agreed upon and you are ready to schedule in your tattoo appointment, you must leave a $60.00 deposit to finalize the booking. Read down below on our Deposit Policy and more information regarding the deposit.
-
3. Booking the Tattoo
After a $60.00 deposit is left during the consultation and the direction of the tattoo design is agreed upon and settled, we then schedule you in to get your tattoo done. Some tattoos may require multiple sessions.
DEPOSIT POLICY
DEPOSITS ARE NONREFUNDABLE
You will risk forfeiting your deposit if you do one of the following:
Cancel your appointment within 24 hours, or don’t show up to the appointment at all without notice.
(We require a few days of notice that you need to cancel your appointment. We will then move the deposit to the new appointment date we pick.)
Completely overhaul the design that was originally agreed upon during the consultation. This will require a new consultation to be set up and a new deposit to be left.
(Small changes are acceptable to ask for to tweak the design the artist is drawing for you.)
If you show up to the appointment without proper Identification for paperwork, we cannot tattoo you that day and therefore must reschedule. This forfeits your deposit and compensates the artist for lost business that day.
In order to finalize your appointment booking, a $60 DEPOSIT is required to be left either through phone with your credit card, or in person with credit card or cash. Once a deposit is left, the appointment will be finalized and the drawing will be worked on by the artist leading up to the appointment. The drawing will be completed and shown to you for approval a few days before the tattoo appointment at the very earliest. Please do not ask to see the drawing weeks or a month prior to your appointment. We work in order and must draw for the tattoos that are next on the schedule.
PRICING:
Every artist here charges a flat price based off the tattoo design, complexity, size and location. Tougher locations such as ribs may cost slightly more. Sleeve work or any tattoo that requires multiple sessions to complete falls under the Hourly Rate which can range from $160-$200 an hour depending on the artist. Our Shop Minimum is $100.
FAQs
WE are appointment only
We are appointment only due to high volume and demand. If we can take walk ins, we will try to accommodate if our schedule allows it. Call us or email us to see our availabilities for walk ins and for appointments. Our apprentice @Janedewtattoo is taking walk ins at the moment for small scale simple designs or even her own tattoo designs at a discounted price.
tattooing minors and booking procedure
Minors age 16 and up can get tattooed, but must bring in the proper paperwork and a legal Guardian to sign for them with their own I.D. to show. Proper paperwork consists of a state I.D./Provisional License and Birth Certificate. A school I.D. and Birth Certificate or a Passport. If the Guardian's legal last name is different than the minor, they will also need to provide their own Birth Certificate.
starting a sleeve
Sleeves, half sleeves and quarter sleeves or large torso pieces can take several sessions to complete, and can span many months if not an entire year to complete. Please understand that when booking in and starting a sleeve process, it’s a very long process that requires an in person consultation first, a deposit to be left and possibly a deposit to be left for each new session that requires more additional drawing and planning. This is left to the artist’s discretion. Each artist also works different and plans out sleeve work differently. When it comes to multiple session tattoo work, we charge an Hourly Rate that ranges from $160 and hour to $200 an hour based on the artist’s rate.
booking procedure
Inquire through online or in person for a tattoo. We will then set up a consultation and then book the tattoo appointment once a deposit is left. Please keep in mind, we are usually a month or two booked out at times. Saturdays especially are very busy days due to the high demand of everyone having off from work and wanting to get tattooed that day. If you want to book in specifically for a Saturday, you must understand there can be a month or two wait for an open Saturday so please don’t hesitate to book for one. Plan ahead. Parties of people 3 or larger also please plan ahead when trying to book a big party like that into our schedules.
covid 19 and bringing guests
Since Covid-19 is still a very impactful and serious situation currently ongoing, we ask all clients who are not vaccinated yet to please wear a mask in our facility. Our whole Staff is vaccinated as well. Clients are allowed to bring up to 1 other visitor with them for support but no more than 1.
identification and paperwork
A State I.D. is needed to legally get tattooed in the state of NJ. Without a legal I.D., or Passport, we cannot tattoo you. If you scheduled your first appointment with us and show up without an I.D., not only can we not tattoo you that day, but you will have to rebook another new appointment and that will forfeit your deposit.
Policy on Touch Ups
Every artist here provides free touch ups on their work. We guarantee our work will hold up but they’re are times where a tattoo needs a slight touch of love. However we do not provide free touch ups on fingers, hands, feet or the face.
Shop Minimum
Our Shop Minimum price is $100. We cannot charge any lower than $100 due to labor of the artists, time of the artist, time spent on drawing the design a head of time, tattoo supplies and utilities. Pricing of tattoos larger than the Shop Minimum category will be discussed with you and the artist.
We Do Not do piercings
We are very sorry to say that we do not do piercings here at this establishment. We do not have a licensed piercer on site. Our Facebook page may say so, however that is only because Facebook combines both tattooing and piercing into one business category. Sorry for the misleading. We do however plan on selling body jewelry within the years time!
Tattooing certain body parts
We only tattoo the TOP part of fingers and TOP part of feet and hands not the sides of fingers or sides of feet or the palm of hands. And even then, the design has to be simple enough to work as a tattoo suited for those locations. These tattoos are at the artist's discretion and any artist here may refuse to tattoo fingers, inner lips, hands, and the face of any client due to those locations also being very difficult, painful areas and areas that do not heal well.
Anyone who is not partially or heavily tattooed will not be allowed to get their hands, neck or face tattooed. We also do not tattoo any genital region on people due to possible complications that may come with those locations. If any artist does tattoo fingers, hands, etc.. their work is NOT guaranteed to stay forever and may require a non-free touch up.
aftercare instructions
Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo
When you get home: Remove bandage within 1-2 hours after getting your tattoo. Do not rebandage! Your tattoo needs to breathe, just like any open wound. Wash your tattoo with an anti-bacterial liquid soap such as DIAL. Be gentle, do not use a washcloth, or anything that will exfoliate your tattoo. Only use your hands. Gently pat your tattoo dry with a paper towel. Do not rub or use a fabric with a rough surface. Make sure to wash the tattoo with warm water and anti-bacterial soap 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks.
The first 3-4 days during that time, apply a small amount of ointment onto the tattoo such as Aquaphor, or A&D ointment. Apply the ointment 2 times a day. Always use clean hands and do not place your fingers back into the ointment after touching your tattoo. Make sure to rub the ointment in so that it is not shiny, or greasy- you want the thinnest amount possible. Do Not use Vaseline, petroleum, Neosporin, Bag Balm, etc.
On the first night, if your tattoo gets stuck to your bedding, saturate the cloth with water so it separates without ripping the cloth from your skin.
Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 2 weeks- nothing abrasive or irritating.
For a foot tattoo: go barefoot as much as possible. If you must wear shoes, wear a clean cotton sock before putting on your shoe. Avoid sandals or flip-flops for this period of time to prevent chafing and damage to the tattoo.
After day 3 or 4: On the 3rd or 4th day your tattoo will begin to peel. This is normal! Do not pick at the skin. Let the scabbing flake off naturally and on it’s own.
By 2nd week in you may begin using a mild, white, unscented lotion, free of dyes or perfumes such as Aveeno or Lubriderm. Use lotion for a minimum of 2 weeks, 1-2 times daily. Your tattoo may begin to get itchy, please do not scratch it or touch it.
Do not pick, scratch, peel, slap, rub or irritate your tattoo.
You can shower, but do not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks in water. No swimming, soaking or bathing in any hot tub, pool, bath or beach water.
Do not expose your tattoo to the sun for at least 3 weeks, after that use sun block.
Do not wear abrasive materials, jewelry, or shoes that rub against your tattoo.
Do not let anyone touch your fresh tattoo. You shouldn’t be touching it unless you wash your hands first.
Ice your tattoo to reduce swelling
Eleveate your tattoo to reduce swelling
Take short showers
Working Out:
If you plan on working out after your tattoo, please try to wait up to 3 days before going to the gym. If you can manage to work out at home, we recommend you do so. If you do plan on going to the gym, please wear soft loose clothing over your tattoo, so it’s not exposed nor will the fabric rub against it and cause friction burns. Do not wear tight clothing trapping in sweat. Proceed to disinfect and wipe down all equipment you plan on sitting down on and using, and then disinfect when you leave that equipment.
